Don’t Plurk In The Past!
I don’t know about you, but I have not yet figured out a way to be on Plurk 24/7. Instead, I sometimes have to work, or sleep, or otherwise have a life. So, very often, when I do get over to Plurk, there are a LOT of plurks waiting for me. Often hundreds and hundreds. Worse, I can see that there are people actively plurking while I am stuck in a river of old plurks. The pressure is relentless.
Hold on, now, plurking is supposed to be fun! Don’t get all strung out about those old plurks. You are never, never going to get to see every plurk, no matter how hard you try. You can torment yourself if you want to, but I have decided that it just isn’t worth it. If I have more than 75 or so plurks awaiting me, here’s what I do:
1.I set the timeline so that I only see my own Plurks, and I look at those. That way, if I asked a question and missed an answer while I was gone, I can still hear it. That happened to me the other night / morning with a question about Airport Extreme and PCs.
2.Set it back to looking at all plurks, click on “Mark all as read”, then click on refresh. It may take a few times if you have been away a while. Pretty soon, all you will have left is the Plurks and responses that are happening RIGHT NOW.
3.Then settle back any enjoy plurking!
For your own mental health, it is important for you to stop plurking in the past and start plurking in the present. That is certainly consistant with the concept of Karma
I’m KDFrawg on Plurk. If you see me, stop and say “Hi.”

My strategy thus far has been to not follow somany people, but there are too many great people to follow. Even if you axe all the karma spammers. I think I’ll try this from now on.

I knew you were way smart!
@clainazaret -
There is no sense in following spammers when you can follow cool people! I am going to have to look at how many people I am no longer following, as a percentage. I’m pretty sure is is small. But they have cleaned up my timeline a lot, so it’s worth it!
@Eric -
Thanks! I figured you would. You’re nearly a pro!
@sammysunshine -
You are way nice!

I know… I know… I’m beginning to sound like a broken record… but…
This is something I’m hoping to alleviate with the upcoming client and one of it’s major features.
Even though you don’t want to be stressed out by past plurks, what if there was a plurk that was particularly interesting to you? Or a plurk by your core group of friends or favorite friends? Or what if there was a plurk talking _about_ you?
One of the major features coming in plurker will help facilitate keeping track of those types of plurks and finding them whenever you want
I plan on releasing a major feature list soonish, probably before the PlurkCast
