Daily Plurk Grab Bag
First, let me say that yesterdays Plurkcast was an absolute blast to be involved in. Eric, owner of Plurkable.com, has been nice enough to tell me that I can come back next week, and any other week that I want. I am so into Plurk, and so behind what Eric is doing, that I cannot imagine missing a show. He may have second thoughts when the show goes to video, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.
If you missed it, you can still get an mp3 of the show. That is also the same place that we will be next week!
I know that people complain about Karma. Since I don’t much care about it (the only way to true enlightenment) I only have one slight complaint. I am well above 60 in Karma points, so mine generally rises just .09 per update. However, when I go to bed, and am gone for about eight hours, my score only goes up .04 points. Does this mean that Plurk is encouraging their users to never sleep? That’s not a very healthy practice and I am underwhelmed by Plurk’s promotion of it.
Lastly, I am wondering why a few plurkers try so hard to impress us with Plurks such as “I just got off the phone with some very important people,” “I just went for a dip in my private hot tub,” and “I’m talking on the phone to a famous blogger?” It just makes them look like pompous asses, which is probably not the intent. Yes, gee, you’re WAY cool. Now, get over it and Plurk!
I’m KDFrawg on Plurk, and I’m just a regular fella in a frawg suit.

Hahahaha! Wht does the term “famous blogger” sound so funny to me?

@Tomboys -
It always seems like an odd phrase to me, too. I blog several times a day, in several places, and certainly never expect to be famous. I’m just having a good time here.
Some bloggers work very hard to be famous, and some like doshdosh (Maki) actually make it, as he certainly deserves to. So it is possible. Still, being famous as a blogger is being famous in a much smaller pond than being famous as a pro athlete or a truly large movie star. Fame, though, is relative to the size of the pond.

Gah Frawggie yer right! No more posting my recordings on there. I hadn’t thought about it making me seem toolish!
I love your insight into what goes on in Plurk.

I know you weren’t directly refering to me hon… but it did make me stop and think. That’s all I was getting at. Last night recorded a new song and posted the link to it. Was kinda attention whorish and I didn’t realize it at the time. (I HATE posts like that with the fire of a thousand suns going super nova… heh)
I didn’t take offense… it just made me stop and think.

@NotAMeanGirl - I thought your posts about your singing were cute, and not even a little bit pretentious. Best of all, I thought you sang pretty darned well. I cannot sing a lick. I played Mommy to a little girl for several years after a friend of mine divorced and we were doing a big project together. When she was about four, and we were heading somewhere in the car, we were singing along to something on the radio. She turned to me and said, “Michael, don’t sing!” I am that bad.

ROFL. Sounds like my Grandpa, bless his soul. He NEVER sang… except in church on high holidays. One Christmas Mass he was just belting it out and the lady behind him actually ASKED HIM TO STOP SINGING!!! He was mortified and always made me sit next to him after that so I could drown him out. lol

Some people just crave that attention and can’t help but try to post “impressive” Plurks. Its most likely the same people who participate on automotive sites like CarDomain.com and talk about their 800hp Ford Escort that can go 0-60 in 2.1 seconds.
I’d say those people are who the A-Team meant the mute button to be used on.
