Plurkish Odds and Ends
I was lucky enough to do a live Web broadcast of the Saturday Night Monkey last night, as a guest of @MarkKarras and @calinazaret, who were more than nice enough to let me talk about how great Plurk is, and to promote the Plurkable PlurkCast a little. It was all great fun, and I was really happy to hear the voices of the hosts, and to finally get to meet @cGt2099 of Social Blend and The-TrukstoP.com, a real legend of the Web and a very cool guy. My thanks to everyone for letting me play. There was also a great guy named Rami (@bianconeri4ever) from Saudi Arabia.
When I came back this morning, I discovered two new spammy sorts of reports, a sure sign that Plurk is going mainstream. The first was about what appears to be a soft-porn site out of Florida who has registered a Plurk name. The second was someone I saw last night after the show that dropped into a conversation I was having and noted that those in the conversation probably needed to masturbate. If either of these offends you, and you see them, fee free to block them There does not appear to be a facility to “report” users, but I will bet that the A-Team pays attention to block requests.
The masturbation incident reminded me more than a little bit of a twelve-year-old running loose on mommy’s computer, saying things that struck him or her as “dirty” and clever. I looked at a few past plurks, and was very pleased that this little miscreant was not my offspring to deal with. Plurk is going to see more an more of both these kinds of users. Don’t over-think it. If they offend you, block them. If you don’t, somebody else will. They don’t add much to the conversation.
On a more pleasant note, we have a new addition to the ranks of Plurkish blogs. @Thoughtwrong has started a very classy looking site called MyPleeps.com. He has a lot of cool plans and I wish him nothing but great things as he develops the site. Go take a look at it!
I’m KDFrawg on Plurk and I’m way over 12.

LOL. I just adore you! I don’t feel so bad about unfriending that person now.
TY. How do you go about blocking though?

I’m glad I haven’t seen those yet.

@NotAMeanGirl -
It’s the last option in the dropdown list that shows up when you hover over the user name in a Plurk or a response.
