I think that most of us know this, just from hanging around there, but Plurk really cares about what we think. I was reminded of that again this morning when @amix posted a comment on yesterdays Plurkiverse post. He didn’t have to do that. Heck, I don’t even know how he knew that there was a post to be responded to. But he did, and he reiterated what the post and the comments were saying: there won’t be a Plurk API until it is certain that it will not interfere with the usability of Plurk.

Better yet, this is just a single instance among many that tells us that Plurk cares. Many of us have encountered @amix on line. Many of us have submitted ideas to Plurk, and have been gratified to have them turn into features. Although I’m sure were were not alone in this, @dotlizard and I (plus a couple of others) noodled together an idea one night. Dotlizard wrote it up here and submitted the link. That conversation turned very quickly into the mute feature.

For those of you that are not aware of it, that sort of thing does not happen on most sites. The A-Team is paying attention to what users want, and they are working hard to bring those things to us. They are trying to give us the Plurk that we want. Even better, they are doing so wisely, so that Plurk does not go the way of Twitter. I thank amix for coming by my little site and letting us know what is going on. I thank the A-Team for working hard to make Plurk better. But most of all, I thank Plurk for working smart, so that we can keep using our favorite social site without the outages and downtime that affect so many others.

I’m KDFrawg on Plurk, and I think the A-Team rocks!
