Togetherness in the Plurkisphere
It was marvelous fun, once again, to meet some of my fellow Plurkers on the PlurkCast, which I am co-hosting with Eric Odom. Just as a reminder, the PluckCast happens every Wednesday afternoon. The reception has been a little overwhelming, and Eric and I have decided to move from a one-hour show to a two-hour format starting next week. Details to follow. It was great ‘cast with guests @MikeTempleton and callkathy, and with all of the callers on yesterdays show. By the way, yesterday’s show can be had for download and your listening pleasure.
While we are on the subject of meeting Plurkers, we talked a fair amount yesterday about future opportunities for Plurkers to meet other Plurkers. You may remember that I did a Plurkiverse column on meetups and what to call them, and I am really enthused about getting a chance to meet the people that I spend so much time with on Plurk. Sounds like a golden opportunity to me!
Eric is planning a meeting for Chicago Plurkers, and Mike Templeton and callkathy have already been doing Twitter meet-ups, and are planning on doing some Plarties as well, and I have already heard talk of national and international meetings, so maybe a Plurkstock is in progress. As Eric said, we are developing a Plurk culture, and the more that culture is defined, the more likely we are to begin to do things together in the non-virtual sphere. Plurk is young, but is growing up fast.
I’m KDFrawg on Plurk, and I want to meet my friends!

Plurkville is a great place.
Meeting lots of nice ppl on there and enjoy helping those whom like to learn new things. And also learning things in return.
Like learning from @LiveCrunch and @KDFrawg about the L9000 :), now to put it to use (LOL)
And i’ve started up a nightly Firefox addon plurk; in case someone want to learn about a new one or has input on a better one, thus the learning grows

I love the idea of Plurkups and get togethers between users of a community. It’s great to talk to people online, but I think the driving force behind social media is that it helps you become more “social” in the real world as well.
MANY of the people that I have been introduced to locally have all been friends that I first discovered online. From there, it turns into Tweetups, Plurkups and just going out for drinks.
The culture that is constantly being developed and changed by the Plurk community is one that I can’t wait to interact with on a face-to-face level.
I’ll see you at Plurkstock, KDFrawg.

I’m enjoying every moment of my time in Plurkville and as it ages, day-by-day, with new Plurks updating along my timeline, an idea such of Plurkies, Plurkups and even a PLURKSTOCK sure is exciting!
I have spoken a little before about putting something together as a Scotland based Plurkup as I’m a little limited to how far I can get too just now..
My idea on us having a PLURKSTOCK internationally, was to have hosts run Plurkups/Plurkies based all over the world on a set day with internet access, coffee and Plurkers galore!
But a full blown PLURKSTOCK? A gathering of us Plurkers in one place.. count me in!
