This is a guest post by Plurkdaddy, who materialized out of thin air a couple of weeks ago on Plurk, to the utter amazement of his parents and friends.

Hi. I’m Plurkdaddy and I’m eleven days old. That’s a little young to be a daddy, but I am a precocious kid. I was born in this thread on Plurk on July 5, 2008. We were talking about needing a Plurk statesman, sort of, and @andex nominated @KDFrawg, who was at least bright enough to demur. (please note that PlurkingPoppa was then fowgre.) KDFrawg exclaimed “OMG! A dad for Plurkville!” and a few lines later @topsurf yelled, “PLURKDADDY!” Much hilarity ensued, in the original thread and others. At that moment, I was born.

The next day, that turkey KDFrawg noticed in this thread that someone had registered as Plurkdaddy, and whined a little, though not unkindly. He was directed to his private Plurks, where he discovered that the inimitable @nethead had registered the nick Plurkdaddy in KDFrawg’s name, so that the history of the moment could be maintained for posterity. That is revealed in this thread, and spills over into this thread.

All of this may clear up a thing or two for those that weren’t there, and it serves to prove a point about Plurk: the people of Plurk are magnificent. I think about the night of my birth every time I emerge from the phone booth in the Plurkdaddy suit. I think of how great all of my parents are, and how selfless. I think of the amazing creativity of people like topsurf and andex, and the thoughtfulness of people like nethead. It gives me a warm feeling every time, for all of the people that were involved, and for all the people of Plurk.

I’m Plurkdaddy on Plurk. I may only be 11 days old, but I have my own phone booth. :)
