The Inaugeral PlurkTalk

We still have not managed any practice time, but we’ll still get PlurkTalk off the ground this evening at 8:00 Central. This is the first time that we have done a show under this name, but the format will remain the same as the ones that we have been doing for quite a while under the Plurkcast banner. My thanks to everybody who helped me make the decision to make this change, and to those who have been understanding about it. Life is change, after all, and we are all about life. The details for the show today are as follows:

Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 8:00 pm Central Time
URL: http://www.stickam.com/plurktalk

You can watch and or listen just by going to that address. To participate, you will have to join Stickam and friend user plurktalk. We are doing announcements through the day on Plurk to get the word out. We will also use Plurk to ask for the topics you would like to see discussed during this show. If you miss those and want a particular topic discussed, please leave it as a comment to this post.

I’m KDFrawg on Plurk and I look forward to seeing you tonight.

Plurkcast –> PlurkTalk

After having given it a lot of thought, I have decided to stop doing Plurkcasts, and start doing PlurkTalks. Neither Eric Odom nor Bloggeries (both very busy people) have been to a Plurkcast in a long time, though Eric was the founder and Bloggeries now owns Plurkable, which once belonged to Eric. I am making a lot of decisions about the ‘casts, and doing them on my own (with a lot of help from my other friends) and feel that everyone is better off if I just do my own shows. So, starting this week, I will begin hosting PlurkTalks.

The next show, and the first under the PlurkTalk name, will happen on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 8:00pm Central. I thought that I would give some warning to people that want to attend the show, as it will be on Stickam and you will have to join Stickam and friend user Plurktalk to participate in the show. You can watch without joining, but it’s more fun to be in the chat room or on the air.

There is some chance that we will do a practice Plurktalk some time today, just to make sure that everything is properly set up. We will also be doing at least three shows a week in the future, at least one timed for the the Americas, one timed for Europe, and one timed for Asia and Australia.

We will be doing features on Plurk, Plurk people, and Plurk sites. We also will be meeting a lot of the people you see regularly on Plurk, allowing your to put a face and/or voice with the words you see on the timeline. PlurkTalks will continue the relaxed atmosphere of my Plurkcasts, and we hope to see all of you there.

Plurkcast September 3

Despite a VERY busy day today, I’m itching to do at least one Plurkcast this week (there may be others) and that will be this evening. This Wednesday evening hour seemed to work out well for a lot of people last week. This evening, we will talk about the continuing lack of our privates tab, Google Chrome mania on Plurk, the transfer of the ethos of Plurk into the real world, and what you want to see from future Plurkcasts, including where we have them and when they are. Join us at:

8:00 Central, 9-3-2008, at: www.stickam.com/plurkcast

To make it easy on yourself when the time comes, you could go now and joins Stickam so that you can participate. After you have joined, please search for the Plurkcast user and make a friendship request. I will approve that (of course) and you will be able get right in for the webcast. (that would be Stickam user Plurkcast, not Stickam user kdfrawg, although you’re welcome there, too.)

If you have anything that you would like us to talk about specifically, please type it into the chat window, or join us on the phone and let us know!

I’m KDFrawg and I’ll see you at the Plurkcast.

Plurkcast August 27, 2008

It looks like we’re doing at least one Plurkcast this week (there may be others) and that will be this evening. The Wednesday afternoon time that we had been using was difficult for a lot of Plurkers and they were unable to be with us. This evening, we will talk about the continuing lack of our privates tab, the great job the A-Team did with speeding up Plurk after the slowdown last week, the transfer of the ethos of Plurk into the real world, and what you want to see from future Plurkcasts, including where we have them and when they are. Join us at:

After you have joined, please search for the Plurkcast user and make a friendship request. I will approve that (of course) and you will be able get right in for the webcast. We’ll see what we can do to stay on topic in order to satisfy chewbocka, but we don’t make any promises. :)

I’m KDFrawg and I’ll see you at the Plurkcast.

The First Video Plurkcasts

We have been talking about taking the Plurkcasts to video for quite some time, and today is the day. Not only are we going to video, but we are doing two shows today, one at 4:00 pm Central time and another at 8:00 pm Central time. A number of us have been testing the available streaming videocast services, and have settled on Stickam. It seems to offer the best combination of quality and features.

You can watch and listen just by going to the URLs listed below. In order to participate in the video Plurkcast, you will need to join Stickam, just like you had to join Talkshoe for the audio-only shows. You can join Stickam at Stickam.com. It only takes a few minutes and is free. To make it easier, please search for Stickam user Plurkcast and send a friend request, which I will approve. That way, at show time, you can log in, click on your friends list, and then on the Plurkcast.

Both shows will be at the same Stickham URL, but to avoid any confusion, here is today’s schedule.

4:00pm Central 8-20-08 at www.stickam.com/plurkcast

8:00pm Central 8-20-08 at www.stickam.com/plurkcast

You are also invited to the after-party following the 8:00 show. We would like you to stop by and tell us how to improve the new video-format shows. We want to do what you want us to do (within reason). The after-party will be on my personal Stickam account, details as follows:

9:30pm Central 8-20-08 at www.stickam.com/kdfrawg

We have been having a lot of fun during the testing, and will probably have as much during the show and the after-party. Please feel free to watch and listen just by going to www.stickam.com/plurkcast. If you join Stickam, you can also participate via video and audio, or audio only if you are shy. :) The shows will be recorded for posterity and will be available for viewing later.

I’m KDFrawg, and I hope to see you at the Plurkcasts!

There’s No Business Like Plurk Business

The dynamic duo ( well, the Squire is dynamic! ) is back to bring you another song just for Plurkers. SquireHogg has done his usual magnificent job, making even the weird words of KDFrawg sound good. This time it’s an old show tune, and the Squire has given it the full treatment! It captures a lot of the way Plurk feels on a really good night. SquireHogg is one of the most talented people on Plurk and we are incredibly lucky having him use his talents for Plurk-good and not Plurk-evil. With no further ado, I present:

There’s No Business Like Plurk Business

I’m KDFrawg and I wish I could do what SquireHogg can do!

(as requested, here’s the lyrics…)

MEN’S CHORUS:
The timeline, responses, the critters, the Plurks
The Plurkers who lift you when you’re down

WOMEN’S CHORUS:
The typos, the bad plurks, the back bites, the blues
The @amix who escorts you out of town

MEN’S CHORUS:
The First Plurk when your heart beats like a drum

WOMEN’S CHORUS:
The long nights when the Plurks just won’t come

ALL:
There’s no business like Plurk business
Like no business I know

MEN’S CHORUS:
Everything about it is appealing

WOMEN’S CHORUS:
Everything the timeline will allow

MEN’S CHORUS:
No where could you have that Plurkish feeling
Why wait for later, you can Plurk now!

ALL:
There’s no people like Plurk people
They Plurk when they are low

MEN’S CHORUS:
Yesterday they told you Plurk would not go far

WOMEN’S CHORUS:
One night Plurk opened and there you are

MEN’S CHORUS:
Today on your profile they have hung a star

ALL:
Let’s go on with the show

MEN’S CHORUS:
The lurkers, the Plurkers, the moaners, the clowns
The Plurkabouts that Plurk around ’til dawn

WOMEN’S CHORUS:
The guy-Plurks, the gal_plurks, the smilers, the frowns
The Plurkage with the verbs all pasted on

MEN’S CHORUS:
The re-Plurks and the new Plurks and the old

WOMEN’S CHORUS:
The Plurkage you posted was so bold

ALL:
There’s no business like Plurk business
If you tell me that it’s so
Plurking with the country is so thrilling
Typing out in fun each Plurking night
Plurking as you watch the timeline filling
And see your Plurking up there in the lights

There’s no people like Plurk people
They smile when they are low
Even with a Plurky that you know will fold
You may be stranded out in the cold
Still you wouldn’t trade it for a sack o’ gold
Let’s go on with the Plurk
Let’s go on with the Plurk!
The Plurk!
The Plurk!
